Central Jackson County Fire Protection District Station 5

Blue Springs, Missouri

Located along the rapidly expanding Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs, Missouri, the 8,200 square foot Fire Station 5 provides living accommodations for six firefighters and EMS personnel. The station’s design pays homage to long-standing firehouse traditions, with a working hose tower providing a vertical marker for the station and arched openings over the apparatus bay entries.

The station’s design optimizes department operations and firefighter health and wellbeing. The drive-through double length apparatus bays include four-fold side opening doors, bay length trench drains, power drops at vehicles, radiant heating and bay exhaust. Large roof overhangs provide protection for clearstory glazing that allows natural light to penetrate the apparatus bays and living quarters.
