SFS Architecture is proud to have served as the design architect for the Carl G. Brewer Community Center in Wichita, Kansas, recently recognized by the Wichita Business Journal Real Estate Awards as one of Wichita's Top Projects.
Rooted in McAdams Park's historic role in Wichita's Black community, the project balanced preservation of the original 1958 facility with a new 22,000 square foot addition designed to reflect and extend that legacy. A public art program, developed in collaboration with local Wichita and Ghanaian artists, weaves together Mayor Brewer's deep ties to the Wichita community and his African roots.
Working alongside Eby Construction and a broad coalition of City of Wichita departments, SFS is proud to have guided the design of this project that stands as a tribute to Mayor Brewer's legacy and its lasting impact on the people of Wichita.
Congratulations to Eby Construction and the City of Wichita.
