The City of Joplin, Missouri hired a team lead by SFS Architecture to evaluate, program and produce concept design options for renovating, expanding or replacing the Dr. Donald E. Clark Justice Center, a 54,670 square foot, two-story facility constructed in 1967 and partially renovated in 2006. SFS and Dewberry developed multiple concept options and cost scenarios for the city to review.
The chosen direction will split the justice center into two separate facilities: a fire administration and operations building, and a police and municipal courts facility. The police facility will include a 30-yard indoor firing range, fitness center, lockers and showers.
