Legacy Park Amphitheatre

Lee’s Summit, Missouri

SFS Architecture provided design services for improving the existing amphitheatre to support larger concerts, theatrical performances and other community events at Legacy Park in Lee’s Summit. The site is adjacent to the Legacy Park Community Center and overlooks the 25-acre Legacy Park Lake.

The SFS team, including Webb Management Services, facilitated the development of a business plan to help guide the design and operations of the amphitheatre. Among the plan’s recommendations are a summer outdoor film series; community events; occasional rentals for events hosted by others; and concessions operated by a third-party. Based on these recommendations, SFS developed concepts that responded to programmatic elements desired by the City.

Improvements enhance the outdoor performance space by adding a covered stage, backstage support facilities, box office structure, restrooms, concessions, additional seating and walkways as well as expanded parking facilities. The amphitheatre structure was a custom design by the SFS team and engineered/delivered through a pre-engineered structure manufacturer.
