A new station to enhance functionality, provide a modernized work environment, and project a contemporary civic image
SFS designed a new 16,000 SF, 4-bay, 3-company station to replace the original Fire Station #41. The station includes a two-level fitness facility, gender-neutral bathrooms, accommodations for Johnson County MedAct, and private sleeping rooms with direct access to 3-shift lockers.
During early planning, three scenarios were considered. The chosen solution relocated crews to a temporary facility, demolished the existing station, and built a new station on-site to enhance functionality, provide a modernized work environment, and project a civic image aligned with the City’s strategic plan. A photo-voltaic system will provide 75% of the station’s electrical consumption.
Construction is currently underway.
