The Shawnee Mission Park Marina project has won the Excellence Award in the Best Preservation Practices Category from Historic Kansas City. The award honors either outstanding work in the rehabilitation, restoration or reconstruction of a structure, or the outstanding work of a specific craftsperson on such a project. It intends to highlight best-in-class or innovative techniques in a project.
SFS Architecture provided architectural services to restore and rehabilitate the existing marina building, to expand its ticketing and staff operations, and to construct new boat storage and restroom buildings to meet the increasing demands of the marina.
