Firehouse Magazine has named Overland Park Fire Department’s Station 41 the silver medal winner in the Career 1 category. The category consists of projects larger than 15,000 square feet. Station 41 sets the department’s standards for design with streamlined operations, purposeful environmental health and safety measures, generous first responder living and working environments, and a commitment to renewable energy production. SFS planned and designed the 16,000 square foot, four-bay, three-company station with future-focused materials, systems and technologies, including a rooftop photovoltaic system that will generate 75% of the facility’s electricity.
