SFS Architecture worked with the City of Parsons, Kansas on phase one concept planning that included a space needs assessment, conceptual design and community engagement services for a new public safety center. The new facility was designed to be sited on 3.43 acres of city-owned property and includes shared spaces and resources for Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center programs, 360 degree training simulator, 8,000 square foot defensive tactics training, and technology-equipped classroom spaces for Labette Community College’s fire science and criminal justice curricula. The project involved operational and physical evaluation of current conditions, addressing current needs and future growth for the Police and Fire Department. SFS developed a project budget, project program and conceptual level drawings to support referendum for funding.
