Renovated and redesigned facility is a beacon of activity for the surrounding community

The design team collaborated closely with Kansas City Public Library representatives and community stakeholders to revitalize this urban neighborhood branch library to create a vibrant space for study, research, entertainment, and interaction. The warm and welcoming interior provides flexibility for display arrangements, furnishings, and space allocation over time, without compromising functionality and efficiency for the staff. Historic neighborhood artifacts and collections are displayed with finishes appropriate to the local heritage. The furnishings respond to the patrons, especially the children and teens, with gaming stations, game tables, fun furniture and increased number of computer tables. The vibrant, welcoming facility will provide value to the community for years to come.
