SFS is seeking an interior designer with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience to join our highly collaborative, design-driven firm. In this role, interior design is fully integrated with architectural projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate is organized, enthusiastic about design excellence, and eager to contribute across a wide range of design tasks. Strong communication and graphic skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate with client and in-house team members to evaluate and select interior finishes and treatments.
Determine program requirements for building(s) and spaces.
Conduct space planning for furnishings and interior architectural layouts.
Develop FF+E programming, planning, specifications, and procurement documents.
Present interior design concepts, material options, and selections to clients and stakeholders.
Prepare technical specifications and drawings.
Understand evolving sustainable design issues and encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
Proficiency in Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Experience in rendering, both computer-generated and freehand.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Pursuit of an NCIDQ certificate.
Exhibits thorough understanding of accessibility regulations and other regulatory requirements as they relate to project compliance.
Strong conceptual thinking, with the ability to tell a story through design language.
Thorough understanding of all project phases of work including programming, space planning, color and material selections, FF&E selections, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
Manages time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with direction from project leaders.
Incorporates sustainable materials and initiatives.
