Director of Business Development and Marketing

 

SFS Architecture is seeking a Director of Business Development | Marketing to lead all aspects of the firm’s marketing, business development and communication efforts while working with our highly collaborative team.  This position works closely with principals, directs marketing staff and is involved in firm management.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify project leads for public entities through avenues such as posted RFQ/P’s, public funding sources, CIP and master plans.
  • Support business development process including research and creation of compelling market-specific materials.
  • Develop pursuit strategies for prospective projects and clients.
  • Research, build and maintain relationships with industry partners for teaming opportunities.
  • Lead response to RFP / RFQ’s
  • Provide guidance and assist Team in preparation for interviews and presentations.
  • Participate in client debriefs for proposals won and lost and throughout project development
  • Contribute to the implementation of Strategic Plan for growth.
  • Lead and develop Business Development Plans for each market with principals. Set and track goals annually.
  • Maintain Project Tracking database
  • Manage the efforts of team of 3 that includes marketing coordinators and graphic designers
    • Implementation of Open Asset and CRM software
    • Manage photography process and coordinate project photography
    • Direct creation of marketing collateral material
    • Website maintenance
    • Develop content / maintain social media communication
  • Assist with coordination and oversight of company events including trade shows, philanthropic efforts, annual retreat, etc.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, or communications with 10 – 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written Communication Skills. This position communicates with management, peers, technical professionals, and external teaming partners.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking skills.
  • Architectural or A/E/C industry Experience.
  • Experience with completing Federal Forms.
  • Must be organized and able to manage others, be detail and deadline oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven writing and editing ability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products – including, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), and MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Ajera software a plus.
  • Unanet (Cosential) experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, able to work individually, and as part of a team.
  • Flexible, adaptive, receptive and positive demeanor.
  • Punctual, diligent and professional with all internal and external activities.
